Artists and their Diverse Abilities (LS-DI-568)

Introduction
Hi! My name is Dorianne Galea and I work in a Kindergarten setting in Malta. I have decided to create this LS as in class we were discussing various artists around the world and obviously, every artist has their own speciality! Every artist differs from one another. The learners (ages 4-5) explored the work of various artists and then some were selected in order to work on this LS. In this LS, the learners had the opportunity to talk about the paintings chosen.
Learning Process
The learners discovered various artists and mediums used. They had the opportunity to use similar mediums and hence got to know more about the artist concerned. We have also worked on a craft related to various artists. This LS was used as a conclusion so that the learners would demonstrate what they have learnt throughout the theme.

Final Thoughts
For this scenario, I had planned 3 hours and that was sufficient time for implementing it. The aims of the learning scenario have been fulfilled; the learners have learned how to categorise artists and their artwork. While doing this activity, the learners have improved their teamwork and collaboration skills.
