Celebrations in Europe Scavenger Hunt (LS-HR-287)

How to engage students and keep them focussed during remote learning? Teachers worldwide are facing a challenge unlike anything in their careers. They are trying to adapt their teaching to the online environment, trying to quickly upskill themselves in educational technology.

This learning scenario can be readily used in online teaching and keeps students engaged from the beginning to its end. It is based on the Europeana exhibition ‘Celebrations in Europe’ combined with Actionbound app. Actionbound is a multimedia app for creating digital scavenger hunts, mobile adventures or innovative gaming quizzes. The created ‘Celebrations in Europe bound’ is sent to students via a QR code, students install Actionbound app on their mobile phone or tablet, scan the code and the adventure begins. It is intended for an English classroom and throughout the scavenger hunt students practice reading, writing and speaking in a fun, motivating and engaging way. I used Actionbound app for this learning scenario, but instead of Actionbound, a similar learning scenario could be made using Genially or Adobe Spark.
