Charles Darwin – the scientific and cultural impact of his scientific work (EN-CUR-200)

The aim of this learning scenario is to teach students the importance and impact of new scientific ideas on European society in the last decades of the nineteenth century. Students will learn to read iconography, satirical and scientific illustrations, and understand its scientific, historical and cultural meaning.

This learning scenario has been developed during the English version of the “Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
