With this learning scenario, students will learn about the life and work of famous painter Pablo Picasso and analyse several of his works to capture the contrast of colour, to recognize the difference between warm and cold, light and dark. Students will also express their experience by painting with oil pastels. They will try to emulate his way of abstract portraying, using geometric figures.
This learning scenario has been developed during the English version of the “Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage (Rerun)” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
