Everyday life in East Germany (EN-CUR-185)
This learning scenario should create an educational experience that leads to deeper learning that prepares students to navigate a complex, rapidly changing world. The lesson should enhance critical thinking, as after performing tasks in groups, comparing causes and consequences, the students will be drawing conclusions themselves. By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to describe the influence of political, social and cultural circumstances in East Germany on everyday life. They should also be able to name the causes which led to such circumstances.
This learning scenario has been developed during the English version of the “Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
