Our Healthy Life (LS-RO-349)
This lesson addresses the 13 – 14 years old students, learning English as a foreign language. In this lesson, sports and a healthy lifestyle are being reinforced through vocabulary, at the same time focusing on improving digital skills. The lesson is student-centred. However, collaboration among students and students and their families are highly encouraged and important. The teacher acts only as a guide and facilitator.
What students will learn?
One of the main goals of this learning scenario is to raise students’ awareness regarding a healthy lifestyle. Meanwhile, all the steps of this learning scenario are also supposed to guide the student to become a confident user of digital media and to express his/her opinions using English as a foreign language. What is more, the proposed activities will help students to understand how to use digital content in order to be able to create it themselves. Students will learn how to use Europeana platform for finding digital resources. They will also make use of different digital tools to collaborate: Google Docs, Canva. Finally, they will create their own digital content: posters, videos, brochures.
Feedback and assessment
At the end of the lesson, students will show their own digital content on Google Classroom where their works will be evaluated and they will get constructive feedback. There will be peer-to-peer evaluation and teacher evaluation. All students will leave a comment/feedback according to the following criteria: production/design/accuracy of the text written and creativity/collaboration/relevance of the topic/task given.
