Pandemics in classical and modern times (EN-CUR-600)
To understand the pandemic situation of COVID19 in 2020, it’s important for students to have knowledge
of pandemics in history. How did ancient people (Greek/Roman) handle ‘lockdowns’, how did they feel,
what about biology and other sciences/research, do we have proof in literature and art….How do we see
‘evolution’ in the ‘2500 years race between humans and microbes’.
This learning scenario has been developed during the “Digital Education with Cultural Heritage” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
