Pythagorean Theorem (EN-CUR-373)

This Learning Scenario will introduce students to one of the most important theorems of mathematics – the Pythagorean Theorem. This is one of the fundamental rules of geometry and provides a basis for practical applications, like constructing stable buildings and triangulating GPS coordinates.

During this learning scenario students will be introduced to the Pythagorean Theorem. They will know how to use it to find the unknown side of a right triangle.

With the help of this learning scenario students will be able to express he Pythagorean Theorem, use it for solving some problems as finding the unknown side of a right triangle and prove the Theorem in many ways.

This learning scenario has been developed during the English version of the “Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage (Rerun)” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
