The Elizabethan Era (EN-CUR-380)

John Dee demonstrating an experiment before Queen Elizabeth I

This learning scenario is a combination of English and History lessons. It focuses on the Elizabethan Age (1558-1603) and Queen Elizabeth I as she was a remarkable person in history. Students are using the pictures from the Elizabethan Age found on Europeana web portal to make up stories. Moreover, in their stories, they need to include 5 random words given by the teacher.

This learning scenario has been developed during the English version of the “Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage (Rerun)” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
