Traditional Turkish Puppets Shadow Play Karagoz and Hacivat (EN-CUR-686)
This learning scenario is aimed at developing students’ language skills in English as a foreign language. They become familiar with the traditional shadow play Karagoz and Hacivat, as a part of the cultural heritage of Turkey. It is one of the cornerstones of Turkish theatre. By exploring the topic, students are encouraged to use their ICT skills, as well as to use critical thinking. Students learn how to use Europeana and become familiar with the concept of copyrights.
This learning scenario has been developed during the “Digital Education with Cultural Heritage Rerun” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
