We Paint like Vincent Van Gogh (EN-CUR-483)
This learning scenario is mainly for art lessons. Students will get to know the life and work of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh. They will focus on four selected works from his last artistic period. After that, students will express themselves through painting with tempera. The main task for students is to try to imitate the artist’s way of applying paint, thus learning about van Gogh’s specific style of painting and surface treatment.
This learning scenario has been developed during the English version of the “Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage (Rerun)” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
