Women pioneers: The case of Maria Sibylla Merian (EN-CUR-196)

The aim of this learning scenario is to familiarize students with the life of an important female figure of the 17th century, to help students learn about the movement of naturalism and to enable students to practice English through the integration of culture. The learning scenario involves project-based learning and collaboration.

This learning scenario has been developed during the English version of the “Europeana in your classroom: building 21st-century competences with digital cultural heritage” online course. The course aimed to improve teachers’ understanding of cultural heritage in order to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices. The courses can be accessed here.
